Our Practice is comprised of four orthopaedic surgeons, specializing in an array of areas. Each surgeon has a dedicated secretary and practice nurse to assist with all your inquiries. Please contact our friendly staff to discuss your orthopaedic needs.

Dr Robert Gordon


Orthopaedic Surgeon

MBBS, FRACS, FAOrthA
Dr Robert Gordon returned to Toowoomba in 2017, after having grown up in the area. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2007 at the Australian National University. Dr Gordon then undertook his Orthopaedic training in hospitals throughout Queensland, completing this in 2016. He has completed a sub-speciality fellowship in shoulder and knee surgery focusing on both arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery. 


Dr Gordon’s main interest is shoulder and knee surgery including:

  • Joint replacement of the shoulder and knee, including robotic assisted knee replacement surgery.
  • Arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, including shoulder stabilisation procedures (including Latarjet), rotator cuff repairs, and ligament reconstruction

Dr Iliesa Beci


Orthopaedic Surgeon

MBChB, FRACS, FAOrthA

Dr Ili Beci completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1994 at Otago University in New Zealand. He completed his orthopaedic training in New Zealand in 2003, after which he then completed a sub-speciality fellowship in upper and lower limb sports surgery in Christchurch, NZ.

After completion of his training, Dr Beci worked throughout New Zealand, Fiji and Australia. He moved to Toowoomba in 2006 with his family, where he commenced work at Toowoomba Health Services, before moving into private practice.


Dr Beci’s main interest in is major joint replacement, sports orthopaedics and shoulder surgery.


Dr Beci enjoys sport, keeping active and fit, and is an avid marathon runner. 

Dr Rodney Richmond


Orthopaedic Surgeon

MBBS, FRACS

Dr. Rodney Richmond is an orthopaedic surgeon subspecialising in Wrist, Hand and Microsurgery. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery degree at St. George’s Hospital Medical School (University of London) in 2005.

Dr. Richmond spent his junior doctor years in the UK, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Gold Coast. In 2017, he proceeded on to the Australia Orthopaedic Association training program, working at various hospitals in Sydney including St. George Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Sydney Hospital Hand Unit and Canberra Hospital. He obtained his Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has completed a subspecialty Hand, Wrist and Microsurgery Fellowship at the South Western Sydney Hand Centre.
Dr. Richmond returned to Toowoomba in 2023 and is currently working full-time in private practice at Orthopaedics Toowoomba and has an appointment at Toowoomba Hospital. He maintains an ongoing focus on improving his practice, attending meetings and courses. He has presented research projects at state and national meetings and is involved in teaching junior doctors and University of Queensland medical students.
